Well finally I have some good news, we have finally been approved for respite once a week. The lady I spoke to was really nice and because the government see eczema as an illness not a disability (they mustn't ever looked after a child with chronic eczema before) so because he is seeing a psych she said he qualified for respite under mental health. Now I can have a couple of hrs to myself a week :)
On another note I saw my gp and she agreed that I'm suffering from depression so now I'm seeing a psych myself to work out some coping methods.
I have just stumbled upon your blog. My eldest son is allergic to dairy,egg,beef,sesame,peanut/tree nuts, fish, shellfish, raspberry and mustard. He suffered greatly from atopic dermatitis starting at a month old. He is 15 years old now and it has been quite the journey. I am happy to report that he is mostly cleared up now, sleeps through the night, can focus at school and his grades are good and he is no longer itchy and baking hot all the time. I remember well all the products we tried. Protopic worked really well and the only cream he still likes is Aquaphor by Eucerin and he liked Tea Tree Oil Shampoo. I write a blog called the food allergy chronicles where I blog about our journey with food allergies, atopic dermatitis and asthma. I have seen those dark days...know that brighter days do exist! Make sure to take care of yourself...try not to get lost in all the chaos...I know how overwhelming it all can be. Take care. Susan H. @ the food allergy chronicles
